Common Questions
What is the training focus?
We specialize in training aspiring, new and experienced substitute teachers for effective preparation and performance in K-12 settings.
Who can attend the training?
Our training is open to anyone interested in becoming a substitute teacher, including individuals who do not currently meet the minimum state requirement of an associate degree.
How long is the training?
The training duration varies but typically spans from 1-3 days for individuals possessing an associate degree or higher, to 1-3 months for individuals with less than an associate degree.
Will I obtain a certificate of completion following my training?
Yes, participants receive a certification of completion after successfully finishing the training workshop. Please note that this is not the same as a substitute teacher permit. Permits are issued by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction and must be applied for online via their website.
Are resources provided?
Yes, we provide materials and resources throughout the training. These can be customized to align with the participant's desired grade level, learning environment and preferred content area.
What are the training fees?
Training fees vary based on the program, location, and materials included. Contact us for specific details.
How is your training different than other training programs?
Our program is fundamentally different because we focus on sustained support and community, not just the initial classroom time. While other programs finish when the training ends, we begin a professional partnership with our graduates.
Do training fees also cover license application fees?
Training fees do not cover fees for members who are applying for their substitute teacher permit.
